I love to crochet and here is a finished product of my work for you to enjoy.
I crocheted this hair net by hand using white size 10 cotton crochet thread.
The outside round has an elastic pony tail holder (no metal!) crocheted into. This helps the hair net to form around the bun.
This hair net will fit most average small - medium size buns. If you have thick hair you will probably need a bigger size. If the hair net is a little too big, it can be tucked under with hair pins. When laying flat the hairnets are about 3 1/2" across and they have about 5" of elastic.
This hairnet has a "flower" design in the center.
I use a homemade hair net every day and I love it! I can use one for months and it doesn’t wear out and/or tear nearly as quick as normal hair nets. And I use lots of hair pins!
The hair nets are good for any occasion and perfect for Amish and Mennonite hair styles. They fit most types of hair buns. The nets are made round but I also use them on flip-style buns.
